Weston-super-Mare Sand Sculpture Festival

Now heading into its 13th year, the Weston-super-Mare Sand Sculpture Festival has become something of an institution, offering an unmissable experience to everyone who visits the popular seaside town. The festival is open from 30th March 2018 and can be found on the main beach off Weston-super-Mare’s Marine Parade right by the SeaQuarium.

Over the past 13 years the Weston-super-Mare Sand Sculpture Festival has celebrated Fairy Tales, The Continents of the World, Under the Ocean, Great Britain, The Jungle, Fun & Games, Hollywood, Once Upon a Time, ‘The Best of 10 years’ and ‘When I Grow Up’.

For 2017 the Weston Sand Sculpture Festival Topsy Turvy theme was chosen by the public. So what exactly does Topsy Turvy mean? Upside down, back to front, the wrong way around and inside out! A crazy world of the distorted and the extraordinary.  See the world through different eyes with Zebras dressed as ballerinas, mice the size of houses, houses built upside down and paintings that come to life.

Not only has the festival displayed some of the world’s most amazing sand sculptures, they have also become a family friendly, interactive event; giving you the opportunity to get involved. Their sculptors visit the site on a regular basis and create new pieces before your very eyes. The team are on-hand to answer all those burning questions or take you on a guided tour.

Hundreds of school groups have visited the festival and learn how to make their own class creations and more and more corporations book their teambuilding activity at the Weston Sand Sculpture Festival.
